Hi there!

My name is Jingkui Gao (Kui may be easier to pronounce).

I define myself as a designer across various fields, including architecture, games, digital media, interaction, and computational design. (I am passionate about learning new technologies to enhance my unconventional and even 'crazy' design ideas.) I earned my bachelor's degree in Architecture from Chongqing University, China and then continued my studies with a Master’s degree in Digital and Material Technologies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

My education in architecture has equipped me with a comprehensive design methodology, an aesthetic sensibility, a self-learning ability, and the skills to translate digital designs into the real world. My research experience at Michigan has exposed me to emerging technologies and their potential applications through creative design. I thrive on the excitement of coding, troubleshooting errors, and ultimately seeing my code come to life in the digital world; meanwhile, overcoming challenges and transforming imaginative ideas into reality brings me great satisfaction.

Reflecting on my research experience, I recognize that my work is built upon the contributions of pioneers in the field. Now, I want to become one of them.

In addition to my professional interests, I enjoy baking, playing tennis, and fitness (currently working towards becoming a certified fitness trainer).
